Stage 05

Total Length: 16,5 km

Difficulty by Foot: Medium

Travel times: 5 hours and 30 minutes

Climb up: 462 m

Climb down: 467 m

Difference in altitude: Ascent 462 m – Descent 467 m

A fairly long stage that presents modest difficulties due to several uphill stretches and the last 5 km of sandy terrain.

You will observe the characteristic morphology of large boulders and tafoni that are typical of the granite rocks present in this area.

What strikes the most is the majesty of the Scivu-Piscinas dune complex, which suddenly appears after the pass with the lookout post of Capo Pecora.

It should be noted that a stretch of the Piscinas beach is used as a naturist beach.

Stage 06

Total Length: 18,8 km

Difficulty by Foot: Medium

Travel times: 6 hours and 30 minutes

Climb up: 890 m

Climb down: 532 m

The stage is mostly uphill with an initial climb to reach the village of Ingurtosu.

You will discover some amazing examples of industrial archaeology in the disused mines of Ingurtosu and Montevecchio.

From the dune complex of Piscinas, you move on to the holm oak woods and to the Mediterranean scrub, where it is common to observe the Sardinian deer that populates this area.

Stage 07

Total Length: 16,0 km

Difficulty by Foot: Medium

Travel times: 5 hours

Climb up: 541 m

Climb down: 609 m

Through the ancient path of the miners, you will descend from the metalliferous hills of the Guspinese-Arburese area down to the Campidano plain, where you will see basalt flows deriving from Tertiary volcanism thanks to the spectacular geological site of the basalt columns, and then climb the hill by walking on granite rocks to reach the town of Arbus.

The typical landscape of agricultural and livestock activities. Then you enter the Linas mountain range with its large forests and rich variety of mineral deposits.
